Bolivia does exist but is divided along invisible lines East and West (ancestral community) and also divided like tropical lowlands and cold and blustery highlands. There's a tale or legend that's saying that Bolivia does not exist. President Malgarejo, on a donkey, had thrown out English Ambassador from the country. Queen Victoria was angered by this and wiped out the whole country. Many believe it's true and many believe it's still there but not unified. There was always social conflicts back then and now. The different native communities are complex and strained. Bolivia has 36 separate indigenous communties. President Evo Morales rewrote the Constitution to Plurinational State, but the people do not think they are a whole. They don't believe they are Bolivians. An indigenous antiroad march had taken place from the basin to the capital and succeeded. President Evo Morales had to cancel a planned highway to the protesters home (TiPNIS). From this, it gave the Bolivians unification. Then later police officers came and beat them on the way. A strike began with the natives together to fight for the cause. Together they demanded more respect and self-determination. The marchers were honored for their achievement. To them, even though they're divided, they believe that Bolivia is one Bolivia, one heart.
I never knew Bolivia like this and of the tale. It's really interesting of the legend and how it just was wiped out. The indigenous communities were all different and separated but once the government or Present interfered with their life, all took a stand for one another and did what was needed to be done. They worked together against the government and lives were lost but honored. They were honored from this and were happy that it was accomplished. I love the quote, "Bolivia is one Bolivia, one heart.
This ties into the political life of Bolivia because of the government and President trying to change the communities of indigenous people. Using their government policies, they were trying to put them into one whole country. The communities disagreed. It's important to politics in this country because the communities want to have a say and not let the government control them. They were unified in their own ways not the government's.
